Morra Aarons-Mele is the founder of Women Online and The Mission List. She is an Internet marketer who has been working with women online since 1999. She helped Hillary Clinton log on for her first Internet chat, and launched Wal-Mart’s first blog. She was founding Political Director for BlogHer.com, and has written for BlogHer as well as The Harvard Business Review Online, The Huffington Post, MomsRising, The Wall St. Journal, The New York Times, and The Guardian. She has covered events from the White House to the campaign trail to Harvard Law School in her role as a blogger on women, politics, and work. She has taught at the Yale Women’s Campaign School, the Harvard Kennedy School, and at the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders forum at Harvard, as well as at the Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Communication. Morra is the author of “Women and Leadership in the Digital Age,” part of the Sage Encyclopedia of Women and Leadership. Her work on blogging and entrepreneurism was published by the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero. She was named one of Babble.com’s top 25 bloggers changing the world.
Morra’s Internet experience spans politics and the private sector. During the 2004 Presidential Election, Morra was the Director of Internet Marketing for the Democratic National Committee. After the 2004 election she founded Edelman’s digital public affairs team where she worked with Fortune 50 clients. Morra worked in various roles at leading online companies, including iVillage.com, eBookers.com, and at iVillage UK, where she managed public relations and marketing. Morra has degrees from Harvard’s Kennedy School and Brown University. She and husband Nicco Mele live near Boston with their sons and menagerie.
Morra serves on the Board of Overseers for Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, the Board of PostPartum Progress and on the March of Dimes MA Revenue Committee. She is a student mentor for the Brown University Women’s Launch Pad and Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership. Jennifer Vento‘s experience blends digital strategy and production expertise. A professional native of New York’s Silicon Alley, she has spent the majority of her career building businesses and advising organizations on how best to reach their goals in the ever-changing digital climate. Since 2010, Jennifer has acted as Chief Operating Officer of the award-winning organization, Personal Democracy Media, which produces the annual Personal Democracy Forum conference and techPresident news site, dedicated to covering the intersection of technology, politics, and civil society.
As a freelance consultant, prior to her work with Women Online and Personal Democracy Media, Jennifer played a key role in new media-related projects for organizations including PBS, the US Navy’s Maritime Civil Affairs Group, Gilda’s Club Worldwide, Public Agenda, and The Nation Magazine. In 2006, she co-founded a film production company, Framework Media LLC, and worked with clients including the United Nations Development Programme, The United Nations Environment Programme, UNAIDS, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Stanford University, and Tony Bennett’s Exploring the Arts. She has produced work appearing on ABC, PBS, and CNN.
Jennifer began her career in New York’s entertainment industry, most recently as head of technology and production for a music company. She holds a BBA from the George Washington University and an MA in International Affairs from The New School. She lives in Brooklyn with her boyfriend and puppy and tweets at @jenvento.
Christine Koh is a music and brain scientist turned multimedia creative. She spent a decade in academia – during which time she was awarded prestigious fellowships from the National Institutes of Health to fund her Ph.D. research at Queen’s University and joint-appointment postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Institutes of Technology. She was about to become a professor when she decided to hang up her academic spurs in favor of more flexible and creative ventures. Christine is the founder and editor of Boston Mamas, a stylish resource portal for families in Boston and beyond, and created the graphic design firm Posh Peacock. Christine also is digital strategist at Women Online, a freelance writer and editor, and is co-author of Minimalist Parenting: Enjoy Modern Family Life More by Doing Less (Bibliomotion, 2013).

Kaitlyn Dowling graduated summa cum laude with university honors from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in political science. Kaitlyn got her start in politics as an intern on President Barack Obama’s historic New Hampshire primary campaign. She gained a breadth of experience in communication and community organizing while working with organizations such as the New Hampshire Democratic Party, the office of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and Rock the Vote. Kaitlyn’s academic research focused on political messaging and her honors thesis, “Yes We Can? The Impact of Rhetorical Leadership on Youth Voter Turnout in the 2010 Midterm Elections,” explored the relationship between Millennials’ political attitudes and voting behavior.
